Bill could change the way Regents are selected

In Iowa legislature news, the Board of Regents is at the center of a bill in the Senate subcommittee.

The proposal would change the way board members are appointed.

It would require one Regent to be appointed by university faculties, eight would be selected by the Governor and the final Regent would be a student.

The subcommittee will discuss the bill Wednesday morning.
