East beats West 70-64 in 4A Substate game

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo East (11-11) beat Waterloo West (9-13) 70-64 in the "rubber game" of their three game trilogy to advance to the second round in 4A Substate play. East led by 37-33 at halftime and built the lead to 45-35 in the third quarter. But West put together a furious rally to cut the Trojan lead to 54-52. East was led by Daeton Hoskins with 18 points, Desmond Vanarsdale added 16 for the Trojans.  West High's Carderrius Smith led all scorers with 21 points.
