IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
A report finds the University of Iowa spent more than $2,000 erroneously last year.
That money stems from a fund for student athletes, but was used to send administrators to sporting events.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports officials blamed an accounting error by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
It was used to send administrators to wrestling and track events.
The money has since been returned, but school officials say rules on how to spend the money are deliberately broad.
