CORALVILLE (KWWL) -
A pair of lawsuits filed over the move of Von Maur from Iowa City's Sycamore Mall to Coralville's Iowa River Landing have been dropped.
Coralville gave Von Maur more than $9 million to build the store and used a $1.5 million grant to allow the store to buy land for $10.
The group filed a lawsuit claiming the land was an illegal gift and the subsidies violated an Iowa law barring agencies from using public money to recruit existing Iowa jobs.
A judge refused to halt the project because it was not proven that the city broke any laws.
The city had filed a counterclaim alleging contract interference.
Both suits have been dropped.
