Cyclones fall to Texas 89-86 in 2 overtimes

AUSTIN, Texas (KWWL) -

The Iowa State Cyclones lost another road heartbreaker, this time falling 89-86 in double overtime at Texas.

The Cyclones lost despite having three players with 20 or more points, Tyrus McGhee with 21 while both Melvin Ejim and Wil Clyburn scored 20.

The Cyclones led 37-33 at halftime, and was ahead 71-68 with less than 10 seconds left in regulation, but the Longhorns' loannis Papapetrou hit a three pointer with 1.7 seconds to play, to send it to overtime.

The 16-8 Cyclones return to Hilton Coliseum to take on Texas Christian University on Saturday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 12:45 p.m.
