Delaware County Sheriff pushes for jail renovation

Delaware County Sheriff John LeClere is advocating for a jail renovation.

According to the Dyersville Commercial, the sheriff spoke up at a Delaware County Board of Supervisors meeting earlier this week.

The Sheriff argued that the current facility puts the county at risk for more incidents like the November escape of Timothy Reynolds.

LeClere says six Delaware County inmates are currently being held at the Buchanan County Jail because there are no beds for them in Manchester.
