Two-month-old rescued Sunday needs more medical attention

A two-month-old, who was saved by good Samaritans at the Eastern Iowa Home Show Sunday, needs more tests before doctors can let him go home.

As of Tuesday night, Carter Brunson needed more medical attention.

His father, Scott Brunson, says that Carter is less dependent on the oxygen machine and he is recovering slowly from pneumonia, which likely contributed to his choking spell Sunday. On Tuesday, the Brunsons were told Carter needs an MRI and may need to go to Iowa City.

"We're not out of the woods yet," Scott Brunson said over the phone Tuesday.

Carter's rescue went viral on Monday after Scott reached out to KWWL on Facebook to thank the strangers who helped rescue his son.  Some of those good Samaritans have been in touch with Scott since his initial Facebook post.
