SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KWWL) -
Heavy drinking can trigger mood disorders, according to new research.
Researchers tracked 400 men for 30 years. They tracked both alcohol abuse and bouts with depression.
Almost one-third of men's major depressive episodes were linked to heavy drinking and were likely to subside after a period of abstinence meaning anti-depressants weren't needed.
Experts encourage doctors to be away of alcohol-related depression.
