Linn County Board of Supervisors won't pay auditor's legal fees

The Linn County Board of Supervisors has rejected a request to pay auditor Joel Miller's legal fees as he continues fighting with the board over his power. 

Linn County Auditor Joel Miller told the board Monday that he will appeal a November ruling by a district court judge that sided with the board. The judge said that Miller didn't have power to conduct audits of county departments without a request from the board. 

The Linn County attorney can't represent both the board and Miller. Miller's lawyer has billed the county about $15,600.
