University of Iowa president pledges tuition freeze

University of Iowa president Sally Mason is pledging to back a tuition freeze for Undergraduate students.

The UI president spoke to Des Moines Register reporters Monday.

She hopes to have it put in place as long as the Iowa Legislature approves inflationary increases in the school's budget.

Mason is scheduled to appear before an education appropriations subcommittee Tuesday at the statehouse in Des Moines.
