Satellite stations allow early voting in Linn County election

Satellite stations allowing early voting in a special election in Linn County are now operating.

Voters in Linn County will go to the polls March 5 to decide whether a new casino should be built in Linn County.

Two locations are available in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area. 

Voters can cast their ballots early at Westdale Mall on 2500 Edgewood Rd. SW. in Cedar Rapids from Tuesday, February 12 through Friday February 15. The satellite voting centers will be near the center court in the mall and hours go from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can also cast their ballots on Saturday, February 16 beginning at 11 a.m.

In addition, a satellite voting center will be available at the Collins Road Theater on Twixt Town Road in Marion. That will be available beginning Tuesday, February 19 through Saturday February 23.

On weekdays, the polls will open at 5:00 p.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday the satellite center will open at 11 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.
