UNI survives late rally to defeat Bradley

Posted:
PEORIA, Ill. (KWWL) -

After a dominant first half, the UNI men had to survive a furious Bradley rally to hold on for a 68-65 win.

History nearly repeated itself.  Last season, the Panthers lost in Peoria after leading by 16 midway through the second half.  This time, a 19 point halftime lead turned out to be just enough.

Bradley opened up the second half on a 14-0 run and pulled to within one point late in the ball game.  The Panthers, however, hit their free throws down the stretch, while hitting 17 of 18 overall for the game.

Marc Sonnen led the way for UNI (14-11, 7-6 MVC) with 15 points, while Jake Koch and Matt Bohannon each added 14. Dyricas Simm-Edwards led Bradley with 32.
