The smell of new car filled the air at the Grand River Center in the Port of Dubuque this weekend, as the Dubuque Auto Show took place.
The yearly show is sponsored by the Dubuque New Car & Truck Dealer Association and allows all eight dealerships in Dubuque to display their newest, latest and greatest vehicles to the public.
"We get together and put on a car show for the people of the tri-state area. So they can come check out our new cars and kick the tires, get in and out of them all in one place, without having to go from dealership to dealership," said Jeff Hawn, Co-owner of Riley Mazda Subaru Mitsubishi in Dubuque.
The wide range of makes and models available for viewing not only interests car enthusiasts, but those looking to buy.
"People seem to come and by cars here. It is really a show--we don't try to sell cars but people do end up buying cars at the show. It's really the jump start to the season. It's when people start looking at cars and thinking about getting something new and this is a nice event for them to come for no cost and see what they might find," said Hawn.
This year, each dealership brought at least 14 cars to be shown at the event.
