Investigators bust alleged murder-for-hire plot

HOWARD COUNTY (KWWL) -

Authorities have arrested two people in an alleged murder-for-hire plot.

Investigators arrested 32-year-old Malissa Farmer and 35-year-old Daniel Padgett on Monday. They say Farmer hired Padgett to kill her ex-husband.  Investigators also say Malissa Farmer had obtained a weapon to give to Daniel.

Malissa Farmer is charged with Solicitation to Commit Murder, and is being held on $10,000 bond. She's also being held on a related theft charge.

Daniel Padgett is charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, a Class "C" Felony and is being held on $10,000 bond.
