IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
An Iowa City clinic has named its director of clinic operations to be its new executive director.
Barbara Vinograde, who was employed at the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic and Dick Parrott Free Dental Clinic for more than 20 years, was named executive director by the Clinic's board of directors, according to the Clinic's press release.
"I am honored to have this opportunity and to continue my work with this very important organization," Vinograde said in the release.
Vinograde began in her new position Feb. 1.
"Barbara has been a dedicated member of the Clinic team for over 20 years," said Graham Dameron, board chairman. "She is very passionate about assuring the uninsured and underinsured receive the basic care they need in a respectful manner. The board looks forward to working with her and her staff."
The Iowa City Free Medical Clinic began in 1971 and moved to its current location in the Towncrest Medical Plaza in 2006.
Care is provided at no cost to those who do not have access to other health care providers within the constraints of its volunteers and limited resources, according to the Clinic.
