Police are looking for a man who escaped a Cedar Rapids halfway house

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Police are looking for a 22-year-old who escaped a halfway house Monday.

James Kummerfeldt was serving 10 years for willful injury and 3rd degree burglary.

Monday he failed to return to the Larry Nelson Work Release Facility in Cedar Rapids.

If you know anything about Kummerfeldt's whereabouts, you are asked to call the police.

Some residents of southeast Waverly are a little nervous, as the waters of the Cedar River move toward a crest in the next 24 hours.
The City of Waverly says the river is receding and previousily closed roads are starting to open.
