Two accidents close Washington Street in Waterloo

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Two accidents that involved eight vehicles had northbound Washington Street at W. 4th Street in Waterloo closed for part of the morning commute.

Just before 8:00 a.m. Friday, several vehicles lost control on the elevated portion of the road.

The Waterloo Fire Department tells KWWL that the accident involved two semi trucks.  One person was taken to a local hospital.

The northbound lanes were closed for about an hour as crews cleaned up the mess.
