Flat tax proposal in Iowa House

Iowans would have the choice of paying a flat income tax under a bill in the Iowa House.

The proposed 4.5 percent flat tax would be an alternative, and taxpayers would be free to choose whichever option they prefer.

The bill won preliminary approval in the Iowa House Tuesday.
