CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
A new medical shuttle started running Tuesday from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City.
The shuttle takes patients to both the VA Hospital and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. It runs Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The rides are being provided by Neighborhood Transportation Service and Linn County Lifts. It's paid for through a special grant from the Iowa Department of Transportation's Special Transit Assistance Program and the President's Fund of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
The shuttle fills a needed service after UIHC ended transportation for IowaCare patients.
You must make a reservation first. Call 319-892-5170 to do so.
