Fareway Dietitian: Chip Dips

USA Today reported the average Super Bowl viewer eats almost 2,000 calories during the game, and it would take three hours running at six MPH to burn off those calories.

32 percent of game viewers like dips and spreads the best.

How to save calories on those dips and spreads:

o Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream

o Replace Ranch with Greek yogurt + Ranch seasoning packet

o Use fat free or low fat whenever possible

o Our buffalo chicken dip recipe has 73% less fat than traditional with only 96 calories per ¼ cup (plus it's easy!)

When attending a party:

o Scan the table before you fill your plate

o Indulge in dishes that you can only have on special occasions

o Offer to bring a dish to the party, so you can control ingredients

o Don't go hungry

o Don't "save up" your calories

o Be aware of liquid calories
