IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
Lisa Bluder picked up career win #600 in style as Iowa led #12 Purdue from start to finish in a big 62-46 win.
For Bluder, the milestone gave her an opportunity to look back on her years of coaching.
"Anytime you reach one of these milestones, it means you've been around a
long time, but it gives you a chance to reflect on the women you've
been able to coach,'' Bluder said. "I think about all those kids from
St. Ambrose and Drake and here at Iowa and you remember those women who
were part of your life.''
Iowa (14-5, 3-2 Big Ten) got a big spark
from Melissa Dixon scoring 15 coming off the bench. Senior Jaime
Printy also tallied 15 in the win.
The Hawkeyes have proven their
ability to rise to the challenge all season long. Sunday's win made
them 5-0 this season against ranked opponents.
"I don't know why we've been so successful against top-25 teams,''
Bluder said. "I think our team embraces the underdog role a little.
Bluder will go for win number 601 when Iowa hosts Wisconsin on Thursday.
