Iowa survives late rally, defeats Wisconsin 70-66

Aaron White scored 17 as Iowa survived a late Wisconsin rally to knock off the Badgers 70-66 Saturday night in Carver Hawkeye Arena.

The Hawkeyes looked like they would cruise to victory early on.  Behind strong defense Iowa (13-5, 2-3 Big Ten) built a 30-10 lead midway through the first half.  Wisconsin (13-5, 4-1 Big Ten) slowly chipped away eventually pulling within 3 at 66-63 with 24 seconds remaining.  The Hawks hit their free throws down the stretch, however, to keep it just out of reach.

White took advantage of opportunities at the foul line scoring 13 of his 17 from the charity stripe.  Devyn Marble added 13 for the Hawks in the victory.

The win snapped a 2 game home losing streak for Iowa.
