Iowa City student selected for U.S. Naval Academy

Iowa City High senior Matthew Lee has been selected for admission into the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland for the 2013-14 school year.

Senator Charles Grassley announced on Wednesday that Lee was among the Iowans he nominated for appointment into the U.S. service academies this year.

Lee, the son of Elizabeth and Joel Lee, is a member of the National Honor Society, Ambassadors Club, Student Senate and Best Buddies.  He also participated in football, wrestling and track.  Lee plays cello in the City High Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
