Waterloo man dies after accidental shooting

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Police say a Waterloo man died on Sunday after an accidental shooting.

Police say 22-year-old Shawn Doyle accidentally killed himself while cleaning a gun.

Officers were called to 709 W. Sixth Street at around 2:35 p.m. Sunday. Doyle was taken to Covenant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police say there were no signs of a crime and it appears Doyle was cleaning the gun when it went off.
