Semi hits snowmobile on Highway 151 in Anamosa

JONES COUNTY (KWWL) -

A snowmobile/semi tractor-trailer crash Sunday night left a Martelle man dead.

Russell Deneve, 47, of Martelle, was driving his snowmobile southbound on Highway 151 in the righthand lane near Forest Chapel Road on Sunday when he was hit by the rear end of a semi, according to officials.

The impact from the semi sent Deneve's snowmobile into the ditch, according to officials.

Deneve was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver, Jay Kolker of Dubuque, was uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation.
