Maynard bank robbery suspects Mumford, Clayton appear in court

The men arrested after a bank robbery, police chase and seven-hour manhunt made appearances in court Monday morning.

Jeremiah Mumford and William Clayton already made appearances in Bremer County in October.
Monday's court appearance was in Fayette County, where the two are accused of robbing the Maynard Savings Bank.

Mumford is charged with first-degree robbery, terrorism with a weapon and two counts of attempted murder in the shootout that left State Trooper Mark Domino and the Sumner police chief Dennis Cain with gunshot wounds.

Clayton is charged with the same robbery and terrorism charges as well as two counts of aiding and abetting attempted murder.

The judge set a cash-only bond at $1.5 million for each defendant. Bond for their Bremer County charges is one million dollars.
