UNI's Kollmorgen named top freshman in the country

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

UNI quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen has been named a co-recipient of the College Performance Awards freshman of the year award.  He'll share the honor as the top freshman in FCS football with Vanderbilt's John Robertson.

Kollmorgen led the Missouri Valley in touchdown passes this past season with 21.  His 222 passing yards per game ranked second in the conference.  He also picked up the MVFC's Newcomer of the week award on two occasions.

Kollmorgen is the first Panther in program history to pick up the national freshman of the year award.
