Hawkeye women fall short against Michigan

Posted:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Samantha Logic's big game wasn't enough as the Iowa women fell to Michigan 68-64 on Sunday afternoon.

Logic just missed out on a triple-double by tallying 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists in the Iowa loss.  Melissa Dixon led Iowa in scoring with 17 points, while hitting 5 of 9 shots from beyond the arc.

Iowa trailed the entire second half, falling behind by as much as 12.  The Hawks would make it a game, however, as Jaime Printy picked up a traditional 3 point play with just over a minute remaining to pull Iowa within 2 points of the Wolverines.  Iowa couldn't get over the hump as Michigan hit 4 of 6 free throws in the final minute to put the game away.

Rachel Sheffer hit 4 of 6 three point attempts to lead the Wolverines with 26 points in the victory.
