Waukon officer stabbed during assault investigation

A Waukon Police officer was stabbed after responding to an assault call Saturday night.  The Allamakee County Sheriff says Officer Chad Dugan was stabbed during an incident at a home on Lyle Drive just before Midnight.  Authorities say Dugan was there on a complaint of an assault in progress.  They say when he entered the home, 60-year-old Raymond Nelson of Waukon stabbed Dugan with a screwdriver.  After a struggle with officers, Nelson was taken into custody.  He faces 2 counts of Assault on a Peace Officer, and one count each of Domestic Assault by Strangulation, Interference with Official Acts and Obstruction of Emergency Communications.  Dugan was treated and released from a Waukon hospital.
