Iowa City man killed by semi after surviving crash

CEDAR COUNTY (KWWL) -

An Iowa City man died early Thursday morning after being hit by a semi on I-80.

It happened in Cedar County near mile marker 264, around 12:30 a.m.

The Iowa State Patrol says 58-year-old Shuying Guo was driving west, crossed the median and rolled his Hyundai, coming to a stop in the oncoming lanes.

The Patrol says Guo was standing near his car when the semi struck him.

The semi came to rest in the median. Its driver was not hurt.
