CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -
The UNI Panthers returned home for the first time in 18 days and put together a solid effort defeating St. Mary's 82-75. Seth Tuttle led the way with 18 points in the victory.
The game would go back and forth in the first half with each team trading blows. James Walker's 3 pointer would give St. Mary's a 7-2 advantage out of the gate. UNI (7-5), however, chipped their way back in to it and an Austin Pehl hook shot gave them their largest first half lead at 25-17. St. Mary's (8-3) tied things late in the half, but Marc Sonnen's 3 pointer at the buzzer would send UNI to halftime with a 32-29 lead.
St. Mary's pulled within one in the second half, but the Panthers would never trail during the final 20 minutes.
Jake Koch tallied 16 points and 9 rebounds for UNI. St. Mary's was led by a 26 point effort from Jorden Page.
