Accidents block I-380 N, all of Highway 20

UPDATE: I-380 and Hwy. 20 are now reopened, according to Trooper Sigwarth, but travel is still not advised on either roadway at this time.

A major interstate is blocked going north while another major highway is blocked in all lanes due to blizzard-related accidents.

Iowa State Trooper Mark Sigwarth told KWWL Thursday morning that an accident at mile marker 53 north of Brandon on Interstate 380 North has blocked all northbound traffic.

Sigwarth also said both west and eastbound lanes on U.S. Highway 20 near Dike are blocked. It was unclear if that was due to one or multiple accidents.

It was unknown when the lanes on either road will reopen.
