Iowa State outlasts Drake in Big Four Classic

Posted:

Melvin Ejim led the way with 21 points as Iowa State held on down the stretch to defeat Drake 86-77 Saturday afternoon in Des Moines.

Ejim added 11 rebounds to notch his 11th career double-double.  Will Clyburn matched the feat with 17 points and 10 boards.

The game was tight in the second half until Clyburn stole a Drake pass near his own basket, finished with the dunk while drawing for a 3 point play with just over 3 minutes remaining.

With the win the Cyclones finish 1-1 for the season in in-state games.  Under the new format, Iowa State won't play UNI until next year.
