The University of Northern Iowa's fall graduation ceremony was held Saturday morning at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls.
About 600 students graduated this semester from the university. Hundreds of family and friends of the graduates came out to cheer on the success of the students. Ian Goldsmith was the student speaker for the ceremony.
Even though the graduates face a tough economy ahead, many are looking forward to what the future has to bring.
"I'm proud of myself, for getting through it. And I'm glad that everybody is here to see it and be here with me and celebrate. And I'm excited for everybody else that is graduating too," said new graduate Rachel Ealen.
