ISU surpasses 13,000 for Liberty Bowl

Iowa State's Liberty Bowl ticket sales continue to surpass expectations.  Iowa State Athletic Director Jamie Pollard announced via Twitter that the school had already sold more than 13,000 tickets for the December 31 bowl game.  More than 2,000 of those tickets have been sold to Iowa State students.

As a comparison, Iowa State sold just over 8,500 tickets to the 2009 Insight Bowl.

The school requested more tickets last week after their original allotment of 10,000 tickets sold in under 4 days.

Iowa State will play Tulsa in the Liberty Bowl.  The Cyclones beat the Golden Hurricane 38-23 to open the season.
