Branstad wants to review "ancient' mental health institutions

INDEPENDENCE (KWWL) -

Governor Terry Branstad says the Independence Mental Health Institute is among the "ancient" mental health institutions in the state that need review.

The governor wants to revamp facilities to deliver services more efficiently.

New legislation from the last session creates a regionalized system that coordinates mental health services statewide.
