The Waterloo West girls basketball team built a 20 point fourth quarter lead and withstood a furious rally to upset sixth ranked Iowa City High 54-52 at Bob Siddens Gymnasium in Waterloo.

West High's Blaire Thomas hit consecutive 3 pointers early in the fourth quarter to give the Wahawks the 20 point cushion. Thomas had 20 points at that point in the game.
