CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Senior running back and return specialist Carlos Anderson has been selected to the 2012 Sports Network FCS All-America third team as a kick return specialist.

Anderson finished the season with 1,455 all-purpose yards with 836 of those yards coming from kick returns. He ended the season with 403 rushing yards and 211 yards in the air to add to his season total.

He completed his career at UNI as the active FCS career leader in kick-off return yards with 2,318. He also finished with 5,166 all-purpose yards, which was just seven yards shy of tying Kenny Shedd's school record of 5,173.

Anderson set a new school record at UNI in career kick-off return yards, beating the previous record by 95 yards and set a new record in kick returns with 88. Anderson finished 11th all-time at UNI in rushing yards with 2,328.

This is Anderson's third All-American honor as a Panther after earning Sports Network All-American third team last season and AFCA All-American this season. He was named to the All-MVFC first team this season and was honored by the conference in 2010 and 2009 during his memorable career at UNI.
