Indiana Ice rally by Black Hawks, 4-3

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Indiana Ice overcame a third period deficit to edge the Waterloo Black Hawks 4-3 at Young Arena Friday.

Two goals in a 13-second span turned the game permanently into Indiana's favor.  After Taylor Cammarata's second of the game 1:31 into the third, Tyler Pham and Alex Talcott scored in quick succession before the five minute mark.  Drew Smolcynski padded the lead at 11:07, with the tally that proved to be the game-winner.  With a two-man advantage and an extra attacker, Pijus Rulevicius drew the Hawks back to within one with 1:19 remaining.  However, Dalton Izyk's 36 saves saw the Ice through to the end of regulation. With his back to both the net and linemate Justin Kloos, Cammarata had taken a feed in the slot and sent a blind backhanded shot into the net for the only goal of the first period.  The marker at 13:11 held up to give the Hawks the lead at intermission.  Woody Hudson tied the score at 7:52 of the second, pulling the trigger on a shot from below the right wing circle.

The Hawks and Ice meet for an instant rematch Saturday.
