UNI spoiled Northern Colorado head coach B.J. Hill's homecoming whipping the Bears 76-59. Hill is a graduate of Cedar Falls High School. The Panthers won their 10th straight home game in the McLeod Center.
UNI's Jake Koch led all scorers with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor and the Panthers dished out a season-high 21 assists in the victory.
The Panthers used a 21-2 run in the first half to open up a 27-6 lead. UNI hit six of its first nine 3-pointers in the contest and finished with 12 made 3-pointers altogether. Seven different Panthers made a 3-pointer.
Northern Colorado was led in scoring by Tevin Svihovec with 16 points. Tate Unruh scored 14 points on the strength of 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point land. UNI improved to 5-3 with the win.
