Strong early bowl ticket sales for ISU

AMES (KWWL) -

Iowa State's early sales for the Liberty Bowl appear to be going strong.  As of 5 p.m. Monday, the Cyclones had already sold more than 2,500 tickets according to athletic director Jamie Pollard.  The update came just 20 hours after Pollard announced that Iowa State had been invited to the Memphis game to face Tulsa.  The Cyclones defeated the Golden Hurricanes 38-23 to open the 2012 season.

Student ticket sales are helping to push the strong sales.  Pollard's update said more than 500 had already been purchased by the afternoon.

The 2012 Autozone Liberty Bowl will kick off at 2:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
