Iowa City, Coralville to recycle old Xmas lights

After you've decked the halls, you can recycle those lights in at least two eastern Iowa towns.

Iowa City and Coralville are providing residents with several drop-off recycling locations for their unwanted or non-working Christmas lights.

Residents are advised to only use the bins for strings of lights.

The program runs until Jan. 7.

Iowa City:

--City Carton Recycling (3 E. Benton Street)

--Hy-Vee South (Waterfront Drive)

--Hy-Vee East (First Avenue)

--Hy-Vee (North Dodge)

--Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center (3900 Hebl Avenue SW)

--ReStore (2401 Scott Blvd. SE)

Coralville:

--Coralville City Hall (1512 7th Street)

--Coralville Recreation Center (1506 8th Street)

--Coralville Recycling Center (110 E. 7th Street)

--Hy-Vee, Lantern Park Plaza (1914 8th Street)

--Walgreens (102 2nd Street)

--Walgreens (2751 Heartland Drive)
