Iowa State to play in Liberty Bowl on Dec. 31

The Iowa State Cyclones have formally accepted a bid to play in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on December 31 in Memphis, Tennessee. The Cyclones (6-6) will play Conference USA champion Tulsa (10-3). The game will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium and be televised by ESPN.

Some residents of southeast Waverly are a little nervous, as the waters of the Cedar River move toward a crest in the next 24 hours.
The City of Waverly says the river is receding and previousily closed roads are starting to open.
