VICTOR (KWWL) -
A Cedar Rapids man is in the hospital following an accident while deer hunting in Iowa County. The Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources says 46-year-old Steven Thompson was hunting with his son in a field near Victor Sunday when his shotgun, rested muzzle down on the top of his boot, slipped. As he grabbed for it, the gun fired with the slug hitting his big toe. He was taken to an Iowa City hospital where he's expected to survive his injuries.
