Governor Branstad wants pay freeze for state workers


Governor Terry Branstad is asking state workers to accept a pay freeze for the next two years and to cover more of their own health insurance costs.

Radio Iowa reports the proposal was presented today to AFSCME representatives.

Union leaders have called the proposal "appalling".
