An assault at a Waterloo bar on Tuesday night resulted in one man undergoing surgery and two other men being arrested.

Captain Tim Pillack says officers were called to Chaser's Bar in Waterloo at around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday for a reported assault.

When police arrived at the bar, they found 29-year-old Craig Robert Kriener with a cut neck.  Witnesses told officers that Kriener had been hit in the head with a beer glass.

On Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at approximately 9:00 PM, Waterloo Police were sent to Chaser's Bar, 3005 University Avenue on report of an assault.

Police say while they were investigating the incident, 33-year-old Nathan Anthony Walter showed up at Covenant Medical Center with severe cuts to his hands.

Pillack says Walter was treated for his injuries and arrested.  He is charged with willful injury for allegedly hitting Kriener with the beer glass.

34-year-old Kurtis Gregory Walker, is charged with accessory after the fact.  Pillack says Walker took Walter from the bar, switched vehicles and then drove Walter to the hospital.

Kriener was taken to Allen Hospital for surgery.  Pillack says he is in stable condition.

An earlier version of this story named the two arrested as Nathan Walter and Kurtis Walter and said they were brothers. This information was from Waterloo Police Investigations. Captain Pillack later corrected the release to reflect the correct names and note the two are not related.
