WATERLOO (KWWL) -

East High football coach Kody Asmus is stepping down from that position.  Asmus led the Trojans the past 3 seasons.

In his first year at the helm, Asmus led the team to the playoffs for the first time since 1991.  His teams recorded winning regular seasons the past 2 years, and the Trojans won a playoff game this past season for the first time since 1979.

Asmus, who coached at NU High prior to coming to East, is relocating to the Des Moines area with his family.  He currently has no other coaching position in the works.
