WATERLOO (KWWL) -
An elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer's was found safely Friday morning after she had been missing for a few hours in freezing temperatures.
Kathryn Kalianov, 99, had last been seen Thursday night at 11 p.m., and was discovered missing around 7 a.m. Friday, according to the Waterloo Police Department.
Kalianov, who suffers from Alzheimer's, was found around 9:15 a.m. Friday in the backyard area of East Donald Street.
She suffered from weather-related injuries and has been taken to a local hospital. It was unclear if she had been wearing a coat or shoes.
Temperatures were in the low 20s Friday morning with a wind chill of around 8 degrees, according to StormTRACK 7 meteorologist Eileen Loan.
