Veridian, UAW retirees serving up free meal Monday night
WATERLOO (KWWL) -
Volunteers are busy serving up an early Thanksgiving meal in Waterloo. Veridian Credit Union and the UAW Local 838 retirees spent the afternoon preparing turkey and all the trimmings. It's for the 30th annual Mike and Leona Adams Thanksgiving dinner at the UAW Hall.
The dinner is free and open to the public from 4:30-7 p.m. About 650 meals will be served up.
"We let anyone come down. So whether they have a financial need for dinner or maybe they just need some companionship tonight because they don't have anyone else to celebrate the holiday with...anyone's welcome to come on down," said Julie VanDaele with Veridian Credit Union.
