CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Iowa City Regina outscored Council Bluffs-Saint Albert 21-0 in the second half to push themselves to 35-14 win and a third consecutive state title.

Senior quarterback Mark Ward threw for 297 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Mike Donovan tallied 125 yards in the receiving department on 7 catches.  Donovan also scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground.

Donovan's first touchdown came on the opening drive on a one yard dive play for a 7-0 Regina lead.  Saint Albert countered with a pair of Cole Herr short touchdown runs to take a 14-7 advantage in the second quarter.  Just before half, however, Ward hit receiver Matt Streb on a 40 yard touchdown strike to tie the game 14-0 at half.

In the second half, the Regals added a 19 yard touchdown reception from Riley Dixon, a 6 yarder from Donovan, as well as a pair of Mike Dolezal field goals.  The Regina defense held the Falcons to just 37 yards of offense in the final 2 quarters.
